KERMIT JONES, JR. stumbled across the idea of a prepper book for kids when trying to decide how to explain the topic to his four young daughters. He grew up in a rural setting, later joining the Navy, which allowed him to travel the world. Between kids and his career, he has learned that it is important to “be prepared!”

1998-2001 – Naval Surface Warfare Officer. Served 2 yrs in Yokosuka, Japan. 1 yr San Diego, CA.
2001 – Resigned commission and entered Chaplain Candidate Program.
2005 – Graduated from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary
Served as Navy Chaplain at MCB Quantico, VA, Yokosuka, Japan, and a Naval Consolidated Brig in Chesapeake, VA.
2012 – Officially became a “Prepper.”
2013 – Moved to Navy Reserve and civil service job.
Kermit Jones is the author of the Children’s Prepper Series, including Prepper Pete Prepares: An Introduction to Prepping for Kids, Prepper Pete’s Twelve Days of Prepper Christmas, Prepper Pete’s Gun of a Son: A Gun Safety Book for Kids, and newly released, Survivalist Sam Stocks Up. Two more books will be added in 2015 – Prepper Pete’s Be Prepared! and Prepper Pete Gets Out of Dodge.
