Author MEL DAVENPORT graduated from the University of Houston, Clear Lake (UHCL), Texas, with a Bachelors of Arts and Masters of Arts in Humanities, then worked with UHCL for five years teaching the Arts to Elementary Education majors. She recently retired from teaching Visual Arts to Texas high school students, but continues to teach Elementary Education majors at LeTourneau University, Longview, Texas.
