In discussing his Amazon No.1 Best Seller, Call Him By Name, Jeff says:
Embarking on the creation of this book has been nothing short of a spiritual pilgrimage for me, akin to treading through the sacred terrains of the Holy Land or tracing the venerable footsteps of Apostle Paul across Greece and Turkey. While the journey has left me somewhat wearied, my spirit brims with gratitude, having emerged enriched from the experience.
A few years ago, from December 1st through 25th, I crafted the twenty-five
devotionals contained within these pages, dedicating each day to penning a new one. It was my intent to provide a Biblical Name for Jesus daily, offering encouragement and aiding in the celebration of Advent for the members of Parkway Baptist Church in Auburn, Alabama.
These Names have become a conduit of renewed understanding and appreciation for the significance behind the sending of the Christ child, and for comprehending the profound depth of His love for me on a personal level. There were moments during my study and writing when I pondered – if people do not read this, or if it fails to offer the encouragement intended – but, I found myself astonishingly uplifted.
Not by my own words, but by the deep-seated meanings of His Names.
Our quest is one of exploration and proclamation – to delve deeper into understanding Jesus and to make Him known to others. The journey to discover more about Jesus is endless; every revelation leads us to realize how much more there is to discover. Each devotional was composed as though I were engaged in a personal discussion about each of the Names of Jesus with every member of the church. While some discussions delve into the profoundly personal, others carry a lightness designed to elicit a smile.
May each daily devotional guide you in Celebrating Jesus This Christmas.
